Facing the new year is just too much for Pekoe to deal with today!

So these two act as a hot water bottle for me in bed… at 2 am they decided I was cold so they needed to come and sleep on me.
There are a few issues…
Christmas Eve consisted of mimosas, cheese and s’mores by the pool.

For the first time I made a gingerbread house! Lily and I went to aprons cooking school so we didn’t have to make the gingerbread- just the decorations.
I think for a first attempt we did fairly well.

Here is the after

Just waiting for Richard to arrive!

The cats are all doing well up here just causing the usual trouble!
Ziggy is crashed out on my lap this morning

Pekoe is sleeping on her bag:

And Avery is hiding away in her box:

Richard was home for the weekend to celebrate his birthday- It was so nice to have him up here!

We had dinner with Randy and Sally on Friday night.
Saturday we went and had breakfast in winter gardens and took a look at the new house. The first floor walls are up!
Sunday was rainy so we went out for breakfast then just relaxed around the house in the afternoon.
For dinner we tried a new Indian food place. Other than not having bel puri it was really good!

With the death of Bush 41 I thought it was probably time to start reading this book that I have had for a few years. So I made my way out to the fireplace with a cup of tea and started. I am only a few chapters in, but it is an interesting read so far. One of the lessons his mother taught him I thought is still a valuable lesson today: Do your best. Don’t be arrogant. Never complain.
How excited am I for December 1st?
