Food day

Well today was all about food! We did a bit of touring this morning and then spent the afternoon/evening in the markets and in little food stalls.

In the photo below you have flavored fish balls… you imagine the flavor and I think they have it!

This was a crepe with butter, salad dressing and canned fruit in it…

Some various foods. These are what kids would eat for an afternoon snack. Rice paper rolls, fish balls, and something filled with fish balls. All covered with a peanut type of sauce.

Dinner at Ocean Center

We had a great dinner last night by the water at Ocean Centre. The views is Hong king island were great, but the light show was definitely disappointing.

For a main I had a burrata and tomato salad, which was nice. I ordered a homemade ravioli stuffed with ricotta cheese and lobster which was really nice.

But desert was the best course by far!

It was a white chocolate ball filled with a vanilla cream on a bed of jasmine gelato. A wonderful end to the meal!

I was so busy with my meal… I don’t remember what Richard had!

Day one in Hong Kong

We were up early and out for a walk before the streets were full of people, so we had a lovely morning.

Then we took the Star Ferry over to Hong Kong Island for our dorky big bus tour. It did start to rain on us, but I just could not bring myself to put on the yellow rain parka… we had to draw a line at some point. It was a good way to see the city without dealing with the crowds of people on the street. Also we weren’t up for to much today as we are adjusting to a 13 hours time difference!

Then we took the tram up to Victoria Peak where we saw absolutely nothing due to the weather, but we did at least find a great lunch spot!

After all this we were both about to fall asleep, so we thought maybe a little nap this afternoon might be in order!

Arrived

We arrived in Hong Kong on time and made our way to our apartment.

An interesting place I have to say, but nice and clean with good AC!

After dropping our stuff we went for a walk and to find some dinner. We found a great little spot. We were the only non-locals in there, so usually a good sign. we were also not entirely sure of what we ordered, but it was all great!

it is now off for an early night!
