Police Clearance

I am working to get approved as a director for a company and I need to get a local police clearance certificate…  which you would think would be an easy process.  It usually takes two days and the first one involves a long wait.

This morning I pulled up and the parking lot was fairly empty and I thought this might go really quick.  Then I knocked my tea all over my lap and forgot a pen…  so maybe it wasn’t going to be my day.  I got in filled out the form and went up to the desk.  Now I was thinking maybe I should have brought my passport, but surely a Cayman Islands drivers license will work.  Nope- she told me that a drivers license- issued by their office- was not a valid proof of identity.  I have to wonder that if they issue it, but won’t accept it as valid ID is it really worth anything?

Anyway I had to drive home and by the time I got back… you guessed it the line was out the door!  Bottom line I did get it ordered this morning, so I just need to go an pick it up in the morning, but at least that is usually a short line!

East End

We headed out to the Reef Resort for the night on Saturday- Just a little R&R for us.
We headed to Tukka for some dinner and I have to say it was a little disappointing.  I ordered the lion fish ceviche- it was the first time I have had lion fish- and it tasted a bit fishy.  I think the fish itself just tastes that way as it was prepared nicely.  For my main course I ordered a salad and had some blackened fish on it.  The lettuce was a bit large for the small plate and the cheese was simply just out of a package of pre shredded cheese.  I finished the meal with a nice brownie and some great mint tea!
It was a full moon and the view from the restaurant was amazing!

Saturday Morning

It has been a great Saturday so far.  Of course it started with Avery screaming at 5 am for me to get up and come give her some cuddles…

I headed to the gym around 7:30 and after doing some mobility work I worked on a 5 rep front squat and got to 100 lbs.  Then I took a bit of a rest and did a workout called Helen.  It is 3 rounds of a 400 meter run, 21 kettle bell swings and 12 pull ups.  My previous time was 14:57 and today I completed the workout in 12:08!  I was really excited! I have to thank Ashley for helping me through the workout and keeping me moving.

Then Steve came to give Cross Fit a try.  We did 1/2 of Cindy- so he got in 10 minutes of as many rounds as possible of 5 pull ups, 10 push ups and 15 squats.  He got a a good workout in for sure!

After our workouts we met up with Richard at Upper Crust for a well deserved breakfast and a trip to the farmers market this morning.

Now I think it is nap time!

Monday events

Monday was my last day before starting back at work full time… so we made the most of it and Richard took the day off as well.

We started with breakfast at Cimboco then headed off for some pedicures.

Then Richard and Helen headed down to the Lobster Pot for some lunch and made a stop for some Gelato on the way home.  You had to take one last trip down to Surfside to see the cruise ship passengers…
Finally a nice dinner at Da Fish Shack to see a beautiful sunset.

Sunday Brunch

On Sunday we headed down to Camana Bay for some brunch.  It was a beautiful day out and the food was wonderful as well.

After brunch we made a stop by Karoo for a few drinks on the way home.  Helen had the Ultimate Cocktail… which is very tasty!
We were there for so long as we made our way home… we had to make a stop for some dinner as well.  So we headed into Wok and Roll for a bite.

Weekly Update

I can’t believe how quick the week has gone by!  On Monday Helen and I met Richard for lunch then went shopping downtown, Tuesday was a spa day at the Ritz, Wednesday we did some volunteer work for the Crisis Centre and did a dinner tour at Camana Bay.  It ended up being more of a drinking tour than a food tour…
