Richard was able to stop by to see me this past weekend and we went to Octoberfest at the Crooked Can Brewery in Winter Gardens.

Magic Kingdom
Candi and her family were down last weekend, so I met up with them and spent the weekend at Disney.
Lunch at Ulele
Today I drove down to Tampa for a business lunch and we ate at an amazing restaurant. It was in a historic building with amazing art both inside and out!
I had the stuffed portobello mushrooms and they were wonderful. Stuffed with grilled zucchini, squash, red onion, red pepper, sautéed spinach and manchego cheese topped with flash fried carrot ribbons.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting!
Creme brûlée success
We finally got them out of the oven! Just need to let them get to room temperature then put them in the fridge for a few hours!
Creme brûlée
We are attempting creme brûlée this afternoon… it has been baking for about 45 minutes and I am starting to get nervous as I can’t get the internal temperature to 170. 
Fig Tart
The one thing I am loving about living in Florida are some of the fresh figs I can get at the farmers market. I am getting better making the crust, but the consistency is still off a bit. This morning with the extra crust I made some biscuits and they turned out pretty good I have to say!
Battle of the Bands 5k
I previously signed up for a series of 5K races, but with my foot I will not be running again anytime soon, so Richard and I decided to walk the race (which was still maybe a bit too much for my foot).
They had 3 bands throughout the course and you voted at the end for the best band… to be honest they were all pretty bad.
At the end of the race you did get a beer and the finish line was by a beautiful lake. Not a bad way to start your Saturday!
Cooking demo
We went to a cooking demo/class on Saturday night. It was different as it paired each course with a different beer. It was a nice night out!
Winter Park Boat Tour
Yesterday we decided to take a morning tour of Winter Park via boat with a company called Scenic Boat Tours. They are a great little tour company that has been giving tours in Winter Park for 80 years. We will definitely be doing the tour again!
New home
I thought I would share a few photos of our new place in Winter Park- I am really starting to get use to it. We just need some furniture and a few kitties and it will be home. It is a bit high tech as we don’t even have a key for our front door, but open in with an app!
On the first floor is the game room along with a TV room. In the game room they do wine tastings, trivia nights and other events for the residents. There is also a fridge stocked with soda and a coffee/tea bar open 24 hours a day.
If you head out from there you get to the pool area. They have a BBQ grill, fire pit, fire place, ping pong table, hammocks and a pool of course.
On the second floor they have 3 gym areas, cool towels for you after your workout, a board room and a computer room.
On the 5th floor we have a roof top patio that is really cool at night with all the lights on.
Probably the coolest part is the mail room (which is called the library). They have amazon lockers, some other lockers for your dry cleaning and mailboxes. It even has 2 flat screen TVs- quite the mailroom!
