Todays wonder around Paris

We took a walk along the river this morning to get to the botanical gardens.  It was a lovely walk- quiet and peaceful.  We made a stop for lunch at a seafood place.   It was a really cute place and the food was lovely.

From there we went to the botanical gardens and were a bit disappointed to see so little in bloom the spring.  But it was a nice park in the middle of the city.

Lunch at Edera

I have had a lovely lunch at Edera.  It is a quaint little Italian restaurant I found just wondering around.

I started with fried octopus and zucchini. Then followed up with some risotto with black truffles.  They shaved the truffles right at the table as well.

It was entirely too much food, but delicious!

The Shed take 2!

There were a few more items I wanted to try at The Shed, so I gave it one more go.

I started with Pigeon Rillette, Brioche and Chicken Liver Parfait and the Endive, Goat’s Cheese and Pear.

Then I went for the Gin crusted Trout, Seabass Taramasalata and Nut Granola.  It was my favorite for the meal!

Everyone was raving about the Squid Ink Pappardelle with Cornish Cram and Chilli…  it was just ok.  The fact that everyone said it was their favorite may have increased my expectation for it.

I finished tonight with a cheese plate.  There were 4 very nice local cheeses.

Lunch spot

As we were wondering around the old town we started to get hungry (and thirsty) and we lucky stumbled upon this great place!  I had the special which was goose breast with fried potato dumplings and gravy… amazing!

I started eating before I thought to take a photo of it!

Richard has some sort of sausages in a tasteless broth with chives.   I definitely had the better lunch!

Nuremberg

We are off to explore Nuremberg this morning after an amazing meal last night.

For those of you who can read German…

The first course with beer root, anchovies and scallop was my favorite.  But I have to say all the courses were good!

Tonight’s masterpiece

Roasted harvest salad-  roasted fennel, squash and red onions with corriander seeds. Topped with feta cheese, fresh mint and olive oil. To finish the meal I had some raw crackers topped with almond butter and blueberries!

Now Yabbey is curled up on my lap purring away!

The White House

Today we headed out towards East End and decided to have lunch at the White House.

The house was destroyed during Ivan 10+ years ago and it has recently been converted to a restaurant.  I have to say the views and deck was amazing, but the food was just ok for the price.  I started with some ceviche and Richard had some Tuna.  For our mains we both went for fish (Salmon and Grouper)- both of which were a bit overdone.

Overall it was a great spot for lunch, but probably a bit overpriced for the quality of food.

Weeks prep work.

So I have got most of my prep work done for the week.  I fired up the big green egg and grilled some chicken yesterday.  Today I am going to cut up the chicken for Richard’s lunch and to make some paleo chicken salad.   While the chicken was on the grill I made some grain free banana muffins, cut up and roasted some sweet potatoes and cauliflower.  I also shredded some sweet potatoes and have them ready for my morning hash browns.  Just a few more items to get ready today and we will be ready to start the week!

A sad day

I am starting to get food prepped for when I go to morocco for Richard.

And today is a sad day as the last of our Italian olive oil was used to make some fresh pesto sauce…

I hope Richard enjoys it while I am gone!
