An afternoon of fun on the Razors

Chrisy, Jason, Conner and Linkin all loaded up in the car and headed out to my parents house for some afternoon fun in the Razors.  We were really surprised that even Conner had his own!  However it was battery powered and died about 20 minutes after he got in it, so he had to ride with his dad.

Now the fun did not last very long for me as Richard was driving way to fast for my liking (70 mph)!  So I requested that he take me back to my parents house.  It was not long that they came back and Conner’s first words were “Richard rolled papa’s Razor”…  Jason and Richard soon made an appearance in the house explaining that he wasn’t going very fast when it flipped (so it was ok).  They then had to go and put it on a trailer and bring it back home…  No more fun for the boys!

Lunch with President Bush

Today was a special lunch as we got to enjoy a conversation with former President Bush.  The day started off early with a 5 am start for my parents.  They flew down to a small airport outside Dallas and the plane was inspected and declared ok for President Bush to get onto the plane.

Mom was looking very official heading out to the plane.

The set up for lunch was really nice.  We had a spinach salad with strawberries, followed by an 8 oz filet atop a toasted crostini with fresh wrapped asparagus and twice baked red potatoes.  We finished off the meal with a lemon shortcate with blueberries.

After lunch there was a Q and A with President Bush.  There was a wide range of questions ranging from his family, living in the White House, his painting, Iraq, Russia and much more…

As everyone was leaving they got copies of his books Decision Point and 41, autographed by Bush.

The official photos will take a few weeks I am guessing to get sent out as well I believe we will be getting a video of the event!

President Bush Luncheon

Today is the day that all the hard work Cecil and his office have put in will pay off.  Mom and Dad left early this morning to fly down and pick up President Bush.  They have a very strict time table they have to follow all day, every move is carefully planned.  It makes you have to wonder when his life will go back to normal or if it ever will?

We are up and getting ready as up do for a lunch at 7 am…  we have to be there at 10 am and have to get through security both outside and inside the hotel before.

In such a small town I am so surprised that they were able to keep his visit a secret until about two days ago!  I imagine now there will be people outside looking to get in to see the former President.

Garden City

We had a good lunch at the hotel with a bit of the family- Mom, Dad, Cecil, Frances, Chrisy, Conner, Linkin, Erica, Dan, Robbie and Sarah.
After lunch on Sunday we went up to Cecil and France’s house for a bit.  I am not sure Richard had ever seen so many dolls!

In the evening Chrisy and the boys came out to my parents house.  After quite a bit of convincing we  got Conner to go with my dad and Richard to check the cattle.  I don’t think Richard knew he was going to get to jump out of the car to chase a baby calf!  Conner was very concerned that dad and Richard were going to get hurt and that a cow was going to get into the car as they left the door open!   I have to say Mom and I stayed home and hung out with Linkin.  We may have missed the excitement, but it was much warmer in the house!

Garden city

It was a bit chilly this morning and trying to rain, but we ventured out on a little walk. First we went up to my grandparents house. Not much has changed other than a new fence.

After that we walked to target for some Sunday morning shopping, which is rare as in cayman everything is closed on Sunday.
We finished up with a cup of hot tea for the chilly walk back to the hotel.

Royals baseball game

We spent our last night in Kansas City at the Royals Stadium.  We had to start off with a drink in the parking lot before the game.

Once we were inside the boys filled up on Cotton Candy, Peanuts, Nachos, Beer and Ice Cream.  Imagine the surprise when both of them didn’t feel great the next morning!

To be honest Laura and I probably talked more than actually watch the game, but it was a beautiful night out!
