Barcelona

We had a great trip to Barcelona over Christmas.  It was a quick trip, but a nice change of pace.

Some of the highlights:

The art you found around every corner:

The art museum that we didn’t think we really wanted to go into:

Drinks on our rooftop deck in the evenings:

Of course a visit to the cathedral:

Christmas Lunch at Angle

For Christmas lunch we booked the tasting menu at Angle.  We have had some friend go and said the food was amazing and they were right.  It was hands down the best meal either one of us has had!
Their Vermut

Probably one of our favorite courses.  Delta mussels curry with mini pumpkin and acidulate wild mushroom water.  The pumpkin bits just popped in your mouth!

Cured egg yolk with a selection of iberian meats.

Veal shank cannelloni with foie, truffle and a white sauce made of goat’s milk.

Grilled market fish with artichoke textures, caviar oil and plankton

Roast guinea fowl with foie gras, aubergine and black garlic cake.  The black garlic cake was absolutely amazing!

This was a close second for my favorite course…  snow yogurt, crunchy cookie, nectar of flowers and violet ice cream.  Richard was unsure of violet ice cream, but said it was really good!

Belga ale:  Chocolate, coffee and licorice

Just a few treats to end the meal-  Raspberry sherbet in the form of lipstick.

We spend about 3.5 hours eating and took a walk back to our hotel…  it is now time to take a nap!

Holiday travel

I probably shouldn’t write is as it may all fall apart, but travel has been very easy this evening. We had a nice lunch and headed to the airport in cayman. We were through security and at the gate with only a 20 minute wait. Then we landed in Miami from wheels down to back through security only took 25 minutes and we have been relaxing at the club with a few drinks before we board our flight for Spain.

The flight was delayed for about an hour, but no issues for us.  We actually landed and were out of the airport within 20 minutes in Spain as well!
I can only hope the trip home goes this smooth!
