I am learning to use our new GoPro camera, so I am looking like a tourist and taking video and phots all over the island. Sunday afternoon Richard and I head down to Bacaro for a few glasses of wine and nibbles. It has quickly become our favorite place on the island. We will miss it the next few weeks!

Looking back
It is hard to believe we are heading back to the UK in a week for Helen and Gareth’s wedding! I also can’t believe that Richard and I will have been married 5 years in May… time has flown by so quickly!
Daily commute
I had to go and pick up Richard from work tonight. I have to say the view from his commute isn’t bad!
Miami Marathon
It seems like it was years ago that I ran the Miami Marathon even though it was just a few weeks ago. Running a marathon was always one of the “bucket list” items I wanted to do and when I was asked to organize the race as a fundraiser to help the BVI recover from the hurricanes it seemed like the perfect time. I am proud to say we organized 33 runners and raised almost $70,000 to help the BVI.
The race itself was really great. My main goal was to finish and I finished in 5:50, so well within the time cap and I didn’t have any issues with “hitting the wall” during the run. The next question everyone asks… not sure I will run another one, but I was also always taught to never say never!
NYC with Cayman Finance
This week I travelled to NYC with the government and Cayman Finance. It was a busy few cold days, but the week ended watching the closing bell live and having our photos taken in Times Square!
San Diego
Christmas is all about spending time with your family and we were lucky enough to make it to San Diego for a few days to spend sometime with family.
Cayman 1/2 Marathon
Cayman’s annual marathon and 1/2 marathon is the first weekend in December and something I have never run, but as my training schedule called for 15 miles… I figured I might as well run. It was very well organized and a good break from my usual route around Seven Mile Beach.
California
Yabbey
I am sad to we had to say goodbye to Yabbey this week. She went peaceful at the Cayman Animal Clinic thanks to Dr. Collin on Monday. There have been lots of tears this week and I am sure there are lots more to come.
This is a video of the first day she came to live with me (when her name was still Abby)! She was an amazing friend and she had a wonderful 11+ years with me.
Cecil and Francis 70th Wedding Anniversary Party
We made a trip back to Kansas to help Cecil and Francis celebrate their 70th Anniversary. It was a quick trip as our flights were cancelled due to hurricane Irma, so we were only on the ground for about 18 hours, but well worth it!
