Wine tour

We had a great wine tour and one thing they said really made me think.

“We are just borrowing this land from our children, so we have to take care of it.”

I think more companies and people need to share this philosophy.

Monday morning

It is hard to believe it is Monday morning already.

We awoke to the sounds of the sheep bells in the nearby field, but as it is Monday the vineyard is starting to get active with workers arriving to start the production process.

Today’s agenda includes a walk through the gardens followed by a cooking lesson based on what we gather. This afternoon will be a long walk into the village. In the evening we will have a cannoli lesson followed by dinner and bed…  My kind of day!

Sunday

Sunday morning was not any different than any other day for a local cheese maker.  He and his son get up every morning and milk their 500 sheep (they do it again in the evening) and then make their amazing cheese during the day and we were lucky enough to get to see this. We had a picnic breakfast with some fresh cheese between the steps.  It is so good in this day that there are still people out making products the way their fathers and grandfathers did.
