Lovely town

I sometimes forget how lovely our little town is. I took a walk this morning to post a package and went for a cup of tea. The city decorates for Christmas (and most holidays) and hosts all sorts of events.

Then I took a walk around a little lake. Everyone I walked said good morning, even the school kids walking to school.

I walked past an older gentleman walking and he asked about my marathon jacket. We chatted for quite a bit about his marathon experiences when he was younger.

Just reminds me how luck we are when I needed it.

New Years Eve

We went out to Market to Table for dinner on New Years Eve and I have to say although the service was great we were disappointed by several of the courses. It was a fixed menu for the night, but had several options for each course.

For starters Richard ordered the salmon and although it tasted nice it was served in a bowl and didn’t have much salmon in it. I ordered the roasted beets with a goat cheese and the beets were not anything special, but the goat cheese was really nice!

For the second course I ordered the crab/shrimp cake and it was really nice, but a little on the small side. Richard ordered lamb and said it was nice.

The main course was really done very well. The lentils were a nice addition to my fish and it had a nice crust on it. Richard ordered chicken and other than it being on the bone it was tasty.

For the final course I ordered the bread pudding and it was just ok, nothing special. Richard made the better choice and ordered the chocolate lava cake…

Overall a nice evening out!
